Leena Skoog: A Glimpse into the Life of the Swedish Model and Actress

Leena Margaretha Skoog, born on May 6, 1951, in Södertälje, Stockholms län, Sweden, was a multifaceted talent known for her work as a model, actress, and singer. She first gained prominence in 1968 after a nude feature in the Swedish weekly magazine Lektyr, which led to further appearances in publications such as the French magazine Lui. These exposures catapulted her into the European modeling scene, where she became a sought-after figure.

In pursuit of broader opportunities, Skoog relocated to London, where she expanded her career into acting. She secured roles in various films and television productions during the early 1970s. Notably, she appeared as a nurse in the 1972 British comedy Up the Front and portrayed Greta Gruber in The Four Dimensions of Greta the same year. Her filmography also includes appearances in Åsa-Nisse i rekordform (1969), Laila Wakes Up (1969), and Laila Takes a Bath (1969). ​

During her time in London, Skoog’s personal life attracted media attention, particularly her relationship with Alan Whitehead, the drummer for the British pop group Marmalade. The couple married in July 1971 at St James The Great Church in Friern Barnet, an event that was heavily covered by the press.

However, their marriage faced challenges, leading to their divorce two years later. Despite the separation, they reportedly remained on good terms until Leena’s untimely death.

Following her divorce from Whitehead, Skoog continued her career and later married American executive Jim Feeney. In the early 1990s, she returned to Sweden, where she lived until her passing on July 12, 1998, in Stockholm. ​
